Animal Rescue Friends Book ClubRegister

Location: Story Time Room

JPL's Animal Rescue Friends Book Club is for 3rd-5th graders who love all critters! Each participant will receive a copy of the graphic novel "Animal Rescue Friends". Participants will be required to read an assigned story from this graphic novel each month and meet to discuss (approximately 25-30 pages). Along with our discussion, we will meet with an animal friend from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa's TheraPets program and do corresponding crafts/activities. A snack and juice will be provided. For children ages 8 and under, a parent or caregiver is required to remain inside of the library during this program. *Registration is required *Grades 3-5

Erica has been knitting since 2004 and teaching knitting to anyone that will listen since 2010. She enjoys bright colors, natural fibers and pieces that step away from the norm.

Ready to put your gaming skills to the test? We'll be hosting a different video game tournament every hour from 1:00 - 5:00. Stay for all the tournaments or stop in to play your favorite game. There will be snacks for everyone and fabulous prizes for the tournament winners. Open video game play and tabletop games will also be available if tournament competition isn't your thing. Lunchtime Lit Book Club

Location: Archive Room

Meet up with fellow book lovers for good books and good discussion at this lunchtime book club. Books are available a month in advance at the Circulation Desk. This month's book is "We Heard it When We Were Young" by Chuy Renteria. Lunchtime Lit Book Club meets in person at JPL and online via Zoom.
