Redrawing Iowas Political District Maps

Event Description:

Every ten years, all states are required to redraw their congressional and legislative district maps. Iowa is often referred to as the "Gold Standard" for state congressional and legislative redistricting. This department has a multitude of responsibilities, the most visible of which is developing and tracking the State of Iowa budget. As director, Dave also served as one of the three individuals on the Revenue Forecasting Conference. Dave joined Governor Branstad's staff in his first term as Legislative Liaison and then went on to become his Chief of Staff.
Most recently, Dave was appointed by the Iowa Legislature to serve on the five-person 2021 Temporary Redistricting Advisory Committee.
